Tuesday 30th April see’s JD from Free Radio Coventry and Warwickshire’s breakfast show entering the delights of the car industry to help promote Walk for Kids and to get more people involved. For one day only JD will be working at Coventry and Leamington Mazda in the showroom doing, well, whatever we ask him to really.
Walk for Kids and change a life!! The charity walk takes place on Sunday 23rd June and it’s a lovely walk along 12 miles of beautiful countryside from Warwick Race Course into Coventry City Centre.
Why not get a team together, dress up in green and walk with us this Summer?? Here at Coventry and Leamington Mazda we are both getting involved in the walk.. And keeping the outfits a hidden surprise.
In return JD has decide to do community services for businesses doing the walk, like ourselves. JD will come and lend a hand emptying bins, answering phones, topless car washing.. well maybe not actually.

1st March saw one of our busiest times of the year, with the first day of the all new March plates for 2013. It has been one of our most successful years yet, with over 32 new car pre orders before March had already hit us. Fantastic news, especially when times are hard so they say.

So for those of you who aren’t too familiar with what Movember is (well, if you aren’t then where have u been hiding for the past 5 years!!!), it’s a GREAT charitable event of which was created to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
Once registered at Movember.com each Mo Bro must begin the 1st of Movember with a clean shaven face. For the entire month each Mo Bro must grow and groom a moustache. There is to be no joining of the mo to the sideburns (that’s considered a beard), there’s to be no joining of the handlebars to the chin (that’s considered a goatee) and each Mo Bro must conduct himself like a true gentleman.
A Mo Sista is essentially a woman who loves a Mo. An individual that is dedicated to supporting the Mo Bros in her life through their moustache growing journey; whether it be a friend, colleague, family member or partner. These inspirational women are committed to raising awareness of men’s health issues and much needed funds for men’s health along the way.
Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions and words raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.
The lovely gentlemen at Coventry Mazda and Leamington Mazda have created two teams to support this great cause. And there’s nothing more than a bit of healthy competition to start the month of Movember.

So, last Friday morning I tottered into the Coventry showroom at 8am, full of smiles and positivity ready for a full days work. After a week of eventfulness and frolics in the automotive industry, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t glad it was Friday! After a hard week I had that Friday feeling and I wasn’t scared to admit it! After all my weekend started at 2pm that afternoon surely right?… (I hope my boss isn’t reading this!!!)
As usual I expected it to be the same old same old routine I do every Friday morning. I walked into a freshly made coffee on my desk courtesy of the lovely Kirsty (I’m a little bit spoilt), turned on my laptap and then made my way into the sales meeting with our sales team and my big boss. I got my bits together ready for me to talk through with the sales team, just mainly focusing on how well our website had been performing that week.
I’m not one to be shy, but you know it’s a pretty big thing talking through success and how things are performing in your department in-front of a fairly large sales team as well as the big boss man! And so my turn came to stand up to speak and all eyes were on me. Just as I opened my mouth to start talking briefly, mumbling nervously about the news of the UK coming out of recession, one of the sales team looked at me blankly, got up and just walked out. Awkward to say the least!
I don’t usually have that reaction when I start talking (At least, I don’t think I do!) I didn’t really know what to do. Do I carry on?.. Do I wait for him to come back?.. Had I upset him?.. Who knows?
And so I carried on, mumbling away a little taken aback by what had happened. However, little did I expect for him to come strolling back in quite casually and place a piece of white A4 paper infront of me entitled “Forget the recession, buy your car now!”
The article consisted of telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about car industry pre, during and post recession; How it effects you as a customer and us as a seller. And how over the upcoming months new car discounts are estimated to drop quite rapidly with used car prices rising. How the perfect time to buy believe it or not is NOW!
Now, this may not mean a lot to you guys out there reading this. But to myself and my boss, it meant a hell of a lot. The sales team here are brilliant at their job; they work damn hard at what they do and are experts in their field. But never in a million years would I have expected this individual to one to have the guts to walk out of a meeting taken by the Group Operations Manager, or two take the initiative to research to research the industry and it’s findings.
So all in all the point of this story… a little bit of initiative goes a long way; Expect the unexpected; NOW really is the time to invest in looking for a new car! Before the prices start to rise.. again!!! Unexpectedly!

An exciting family event, full of entertainment, fun and frolics for all ages, this really is going to be an evening to remember. Speedway racing is fast becoming one of the cities biggest and most talked about sports, with manya rider being featured in the press and on Sky Sports newS.
Amongst the top speedway riders who have represented Coventry teams are Tom Farndon, Jack Parker, Nigel Boocock, Kelvin Tatum, Chris Harris and three World Champions, Ole Olsen, Hans Nielsen and Jack Young. Between 1998 and 2000, Coventry hosted the Speedway Grand Prix of Great Britain at Brandon Stadium. A sport which truely captured the hearts of it’s fans, and is rapidly growing in the heart of Coventry.
17th August see’s the local derby between Coventry and Birmingham; if you haven’t been to a Speedway event before then THIS is the one for you! An event that will be truely exciting to watch and have observers hanging on the edge of their seats.
