What is SKYACTIV?

It’s a range of new ideas and technology which, when combined, result in stunning gains in efficiency. Like ultra high tensile steel for high rigidity and light weight, and re-designed gearboxes for reduced friction. SKYACTIV-G is a 2.0 litre direct-injection petrol engine achieving a record-breaking compression ratio of 14:1, while SKYACTIV-D is a 2.2 litre turbocharged diesel engine also delivering a 14:1 compression ratio.

Alongside our new SKYACTIV-DRIVE six-speed automatic and SKYACTIV-MT 6-speed manual transmissions, our SKYACTIV-Engines provide a powerful and efficient driving experience.

The six-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission, available in combination with selected diesel models, provides linear acceleration and a direct shift similar to a dual clutch transmission. The six-speed SKYACTIV-MT manual transmission, with its compact architecture and enhanced gear structure, delivers a light and crisp gear shift similar to a Mazda MX-5.
